04 — INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING / AUTOMATION

End-to-end industrial engineering, from design to commissioning.

Automation, electrical, renewable energy, and water treatment engineering — one partner across the physical infrastructure of your plant.

P4 / SERVICES

INTRODUCTION

One partner for the entire physical layer.

Industrial projects fail at the boundaries between disciplines. The electrical contractor does not talk to the automation engineer. The automation engineer does not talk to the civil contractor. The instrumentation lead arrives a week before commissioning to discover the cable trays are full and the I/O list does not match the PLC program. Every boundary becomes a meeting, every meeting becomes a delay, and every delay multiplies through the schedule until the customer is paying overtime to recover lost weeks.

SURIOTA delivers all four disciplines under one engineering management: automation (PLC, SCADA, HMI), electrical (MCC, PCC, distribution, smart metering), renewable energy (PLTS, PLTB, hybrid systems), and water treatment (WTP, WWTP, KLHK SPARING). The boundaries become internal handoffs between members of the same team, governed by the same project plan, working off the same drawings. Cable trays, panel layouts, I/O lists, and commissioning sequences are coordinated before the first conduit is bent.

In the Indonesian market this single-source model is genuinely rare. Most industrial projects assemble a coalition of five to fifteen sub-contractors — separate vendors for civil works, electrical, automation, instrumentation, mechanical, panel fabrication, and SCADA configuration — with the customer's project manager absorbing the coordination overhead. Industry benchmarks consistently put that overhead at 20 to 30 percent of total program budget, and the dollar value almost always exceeds the savings from competitive bidding on individual scopes.

SURIOTA carries the four disciplines because we have lived the alternative. Every project we ship demonstrates that engineering quality, schedule certainty, and lifecycle support are easier to deliver when the same team owns the design, fabricates the panels, programs the PLC, commissions the system, and answers the phone when something fails at 02:00 on a Saturday.

METHODOLOGY

Engineering, fabrication, commissioning under one roof.

Automation engineering covers the full PLC and SCADA stack. Our programmers work in Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure (Unity), and Mitsubishi GX Works as native environments — not as second languages. SCADA development sits on Ignition by Inductive Automation, AVEVA System Platform, and Siemens WinCC depending on the customer's existing stack. HMI design follows ISA-101 high-performance guidelines: muted backgrounds, alarm-only colour, and screens that an operator can read at a glance after a twelve-hour shift, not screens that demo well in a sales meeting.

Electrical engineering is delivered through our in-house panel shop. MCC and PCC panels are designed in EPLAN, fabricated to PUIL 2011 and IEC 60439-1 standards, and routinely include smart metering and condition monitoring integrated at the panel level — not bolted on afterwards. Every project passes formal arc-flash study, insulation resistance testing, and thermographic inspection before energization. The documentation pack handed to the customer at handover includes single-line diagrams, schematic wiring, panel general-arrangement drawings, test reports, and the SLO documentation the PLN inspector will ask to see.

Renewable energy is delivered across the size spectrum that makes commercial sense in Indonesia: rooftop PLTS systems up to 1 MW and ground-mounted plants up to 5 MW, with hybrid PLTS plus PLTB plus battery storage configurations available for off-grid and weak-grid sites. We handle the full lifecycle: structural design and shading study, inverter and module selection, AC and DC system design, civil interface coordination, PLN permitting (SLO, commissioning documents, net-metering application), and post-commissioning performance monitoring through SURGE Energy Mapping.

Water treatment engineering covers WTP and WWTP process design, equipment selection, mechanical and electrical interfaces, and the KLHK SPARING integration that has become non-negotiable for compliant operators. Our process engineers size dosing, settle, filter, and biological treatment stages from first principles; our automation engineers wire the resulting equipment into a SPARING-ready data layer that publishes pH, COD, TSS, NH3-N, and flow at the regulated cadence. Operator training and SOP packages ship with every commissioning, because a treatment plant that operators do not understand will fail within a year regardless of how well it was engineered.

Cross-cutting across all four disciplines is IIoT integration. Every panel we fabricate, every solar inverter we commission, every water sensor we install, and every PLC we program connects to SURGE — so the customer sees a unified operational picture from day one, not after a separate IoT project two years later. This is not an upsell; it is the way SURIOTA engineers any project, because the future-proofing it provides costs little and pays off across the entire equipment lifecycle.

BUSINESS IMPACT

Engineering quality measured in audit trails.

Compliance is the floor, not the ceiling. Every SURIOTA engineering project ships with full PUIL 2011 documentation, SNI conformance evidence, applicable IEC test reports, and the KLHK paperwork required for the regulated parameters in scope. We do not treat compliance as a hurdle to clear at the end of the project; we engineer to it from day one, which is the only approach that survives an actual regulator visit. The audit trail that emerges is itself a competitive asset when the customer later faces customer audits, insurance reviews, or BKPM inspections.

Safety performance is measurable. We design lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures into every electrical scope, conduct formal arc-flash study on every panel installation, and design grounding systems to IEC 62305 lightning protection standards in regions where that risk is real. Across the engineering portfolio our team has shipped — sixty-four documented projects to date — the recordable safety incident count is zero. That is not luck; it is process.

Lifecycle support is built into the engagement, not bolted on later. Preventive maintenance contracts are available on every engineering scope we ship, 24/7 remote support runs through SURGE, and a spare-parts management program reduces mean-time-to-repair from days to hours by keeping critical inventory pre-staged. The same engineering team that commissioned the system is the team that answers the support call — context never gets lost in the handoff.

Return on investment is concrete and disclosed up front. PLTS projects typically pay back in 18 to 30 months at current Indonesian commercial electricity tariffs. Energy monitoring plus load optimization pays back in 12 to 18 months on most industrial loads. KLHK SPARING projects deliver value immediately on regulatory compliance, with operational benefits accruing as the data layer matures. We model the payback for every project before the customer signs, and the numbers we publish are the numbers we are willing to be measured against.
